About

On 19 March 2003, one hundred fifty thousand American service members and their allies entered the country of Iraq as part of the largest military action of the War on Terror. The operation was the result of the Iraqi government's refusal to allow United Nations weapons inspectors access as stated in the 1991 seize fire agreement that ended the Gulf War.

The modern blitzkrieg quickly displaced the regime of Saddam Hussein in a lightning campaign that sacked the capital of Baghdad in less the two months. What followed was an eight year counter insurgency that saw periods of intense combat not experienced by US forces since Vietnam.

In remembrance of the the service and sacrifice of all veterans, this event on March 24, 2018, commemorates 15 years since the start to the Iraq War. The off highway convoy will benefit the Ramona Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3783 in their service to the San Diego veteran community. Anyone can join this run, need not be a veteran.
